Vijay Eswaran is a successful networking businessman based in Malaysia. He was born on the October of 1960 in Penang, Malaysia. He was brought up in a well-educated family as his mother was a teacher and his father worked with the Malaysian Ministry of Labour.
Vijay Eswaran attended the London School of Economics and graduated with a degree in social economics in 1984. After graduation, he indulged himself in a couple of jobs to fund his education. He worked as a taxi driver in London, construction sites in Belgium and grape farms in France.
In the year 1986, he attained an MBA from Southern Illinois University. Companies such as IBM employed him to work as a software engineer after graduation. He also engaged in networking business during this time. In 1998, Vijay Eswaran left Europe for Malaysia and established the QI group Companies which incorporated both e-commerce and direct marketing in its operations.
It ventured into areas such as education, telecommunications, hospitality and real estate. He is an Executive Chairman of the QI group companies with its headquarters based in Hong Kong. However, it stretches its offices to over 30 countries including Singapore and Thailand. Working with over 1600 employees, the company has educated and trained more than one million entrepreneurs.
Vijay Eswaran’s efforts are dedicated to mentoring young entrepreneurs become successful. In the year 2011 in conjunction with the government, he founded the Quest International University Perak.
The institution aims at offering low cost but quality education to students. Based in Malaysia, the University now admits students from all over the world. He is also an accomplished author. His first book, In the Sphere of Silence, highlights his life management virtues.
His second book referred to as In the Thinking Zone was published in 2008. This book looks at life and reflects on it. He has also written other books such as 18 Stepping Stones and On the Wings of Thought. Vijay is a philanthropist with a percentage of his earnings from QI group Companies going to charity. He has established foundations such as RYTHM and Vijayaratnam that are dedicated to helping children with special needs.
